Grant Programs
Each year, the Foundation's IOLTA Grants Program awards
approximately $4 million to nonprofit organizations in
Massachusetts whose programs either provide civil legal services to
the state's low-income population, or improve the administration of
justice in the Commonwealth.
To foster careers and volunteerism in public interest law, the
MBF Legal Intern Fellowship Program (LIFP) awards more than $36,000
annually in fellowships to outstanding law students for volunteer
internships at nonprofit organizations providing civil legal
services to indigent clients across the state.
The MBF provides limited funding for outstanding law-related
programs that contribute to its mission, but do not fall within the
IOLTA Grants Program guidelines.
